In the words of the doctor today, "It's almost Go Time!"
Wow! What a difference a few days makes.
After my appointment last Friday they up'd my Follistim from 225 to 300 IU's.
Today we had another appointment and they saw about 4 follies on each side, so not too bad. They once again up'd my Follistim from 300 to 375.
Dr. Dodds said it is likely I will trigger on Thursday and have a retreival on Saturday. The nurse Julie seemed to think it might all be one day later than that, so a trigger on Friday and retreival on Sunday. Either way, that's this weekend! Holy cow!
Follie sizes are: Right - 14.5, 12.5, 13, 11. Left - 14.5, 11, 10, 9
Dr. Dodds also was watching the ultrasound and made mention that the "thing" that they were thinking was a big cyst on my left ovary may very well just be the hydrosalpinix on my left tube.

3 shots in one night!
Last night (Wednesday March 26) was my first night of doing stims. My Lupron was decreased to 5, so that was good, but it still required a poke, so that didn't really matter to me.
The second shot I did was Menopur. I had read before about people saying that it "stung" or "burned" when it when in, but I had forgotten about that. As soon as I started to push the meds in.....whhooooooo, holy cow! It does burn! It probably took me two or three minutes to get all the meds in because I would put a little in and have to stop and wait for the burning to subside a bit. I'm totally not looking forward to another one of those, but I'm glad it's just one.
The third and final was the Follistim injection. I've done these before so I knew they were not too bad. What I forgot is that we used to let it sit outside of the fridge and come up to room temperature before doing the shot. So we did it right out of the fridge and that one burned a little bit too. Plus, before I'd only done like 75IU's on an IUI cycle, this time my dosage was 225 IU's! That was quite a bit more than I'm used to.
So one day of that down, one more to go.
My next appointment is tommorrow morning, I'll update after that.

Update from Friday's appt (March 21)
A nurse called me back with the results of my bloodwork. They said that my cyst is "non-functioning", which didn't mean much to me, but I researched and that means that it is not producing estrogen, which is a good thing. That means it will not stop egg production.
But they still pushed me out a week, they're having me do Lupron one more week before starting the Follistim. I start Follistim and Menopur tomorrow (Wednesday) and then go back for a check up on Friday morning.

Totally bummed
I had my screen scan appointment today, expecting to start stims tonight.
But I had a feeling that I'd have another cyst. And I did. The right ovary looked fine (as usual) the uterus looked fine, but the left had a 26mm cyst on it, that is apparently larger than they will give the okay with.
So Julie the nurse was sending the info to the main office in Grand Rapids and now I'm waiting for a call back telling me what to do next. She said they might have me stay on Lupron for a week longer before starting stims.
I know in the grand scheme of things, a week isn't a long time, but I was really hoping for this to just be 'normal' for once.

More shots on my own
Chris was still gone last night, so I gave myself another Lupron shot. I'm getting to be a pro at this now! :)
He'll be back tonight, I'm glad.

AF is here, the show's on the road!
AF showed up late last night, so I was able to call today and get an appointment for my first ultrasound. It will be on Friday morning at 9:30 AM in the Kalamazoo office.
I also had to give myself the Lupron shot last night...right after class got out in the car. Went fine. I'll have to give myself another one tonight and then Chris will be back tomorrow.
If everything follows my sample schedule, I should have ER on April 3rd with ET on April 5th.

I gave myself a Lupron injection! :-)
Chris will be out of town this week for a couple of days, so I knew that I was going to have to give myself the injections. I've been freaking out about that ever since he told me.
So Saturday night I decided that I'd better try and do a practice one before he's gone. I had barely started thinking about it before I'd done it! It went really easy, I think it was almost easier than when he does it. So I did another one on my own. Easy peasy.

Lupron injections
My first night of Lupron injects was Saturday, March 8th.
The first night went okay...no freaking out by me, no crying, etc.
The injection site itched for a couple of hours.
The second night, it itched, plus it swelled up a bit.
Last night was night 3....not so much itching.
But today I have a killer headache :( I hope that goes away soon.
